Nipple - Inversion Correction Photos - Case #2267

Patient Case #2267

This 46-year-old woman was unhappy with the look of her breasts and right nipple. Over time, her breasts had begun to sag unattractively and to make things worse, her right nipple was inverted, pointing inward instead of outward. She eventually decided to find a Los Angeles or Santa Monica plastic surgeon who could help enhance the look of her breasts, and finally decided to schedule a consultation at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates.

When she met with her surgeon, she discussed her concerns and asked what her surgeon could do to address them. To start, her surgeon recommended that he perform a breast lift using the Laser Bra technique. This technique uses a section of the patient’s tissue to create an internal “bra” that supports the breast tissue. Once the lift was completed, her surgeon could move on to address her inverted nipple.

To preserve the sensation and function of the nipple, her surgeon performed a duct-sparing technique, where the milk duct is never cut or closed, allowing it to function normally. Her surgeon would also work around her nerves in order to preserve the sensation in that area. When the inverted nipple surgery was completed, her surgeon would place a special stent over the nipple to protect it after surgery.

The “after” photos were taken 3 months after surgery. The scars should fade into her skin tone with time, but the results will last. Now, her nipple projects outward, looking and functioning more naturally. She was very pleased with the results and happy that she had finally undergone cosmetic surgery to enhance her breasts.
